Balcas
Balcas is one of Britain and Ireland's largest sawmilling companies and sustainable wood products suppliers with an annual turnover of £65 million. The Group has 700 direct employees plus an additional 300 working in forest harvesting and haulage. Balcas operates from several sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, Estonia and Russia. Balcas is the largest producer of wood pellets on the British Isles, supplying wood pellets under the brand name ‘Brites’ to residential and commercial customers. For every tree Balcas converts into pellets two more are planted.
