Balcas
Balcas is one of Britain and Ireland's largest wood products suppliers and wood pellet producers. In 2007, Balcas had a turnover of £80 million and 600 direct employees.
Balcas operates from several sites
- an integrated sawmill and wood pellet production site with own renewable energy supply in Enniskillen
- an architectural MDF mouldings factory in Kildare
- several wood pellet storage facilities in Ireland
- a sawmill in Estonia
- a wood finishing facility in Russia
The product portfolio includes construction timber, fencing products, internal mouldings, transport pallet and packaging products and wood pellets.
The wood pellets are marketed under the brand brites and provide a cheap and CO2 neutral heating solution.
All Balcas products are FSC certified.
